Background

Numatic are an international manufacturer of domestic, commercial and industrial cleaning and maintenance equipment.
They required an application to capture real time usage data from commercial cleaning equipment.

We had already completed work for Numatic when they contacted us regarding a new development that had taken place which resulted in a Windows application having the ability to download diagnosis data from the PCB Board from a Twintec machine.
They needed a connection settings mode, whereby the user could custom choose their connection setting for the software.

Solution

Numatic wanted the application to be able to connect to a board situated in the equipment and when started, allowed the engineer to view real time data relating to voltage information etc.
There was a requirement to allow the engineer or client to upload the captured information in a file to a remote server.
Further to this, engineers could also connect to the server to download historical data back down to their laptop and view it.
We developed a system that connected directly to the internet and when connected to the machine would download data of varying sorts

Technologies

The application was developed in C# for an XP operating system. The mechanism to up and down load files was written using a web service written in C#.
The Windows (XP) based development would be in C#

Client Statement

Genus Systems seemed to understand our application very quickly and got to work straight away. Having direct access to the developer ensured that any problem was quickly and smoothly rectified. We would be happy to use them for our next project.
